All-Star Weekend

As if having to play the top 25 rated Huskies last week was not enough, this week the Lucky Charms had to play the All-Stars on NBA All Star Weekend. And the amazing thing was....the Lucky Charms took it to them.

It was perhaps our best game yet. We passed, we stole and we fast breaked. We hit amazing shots and everything went our way.

Jordan the Jumping Juggernaut was all over the court (like always) but his back-to-back-to-back steals and flashy lay-ups drove the crowd wild. Jax and Shane penetrated at will and were tremendous with their passing this week. The give and go was alive and well.

The twin tall towers of pain (Nick and Colby) punished the All-Stars with rebound after rebound, and what they didn't grab the rebounding fever machine Marcus ate up. Sticky hands Alexie stole his share and Theo the Bullet was a force to deal with on defense. The late suiting Devon added a great second half boost once his gear showed up and he was able to harass his opponents.

Lucky Charms Battle the Dogs

Well they weren't BIG dogs, but any team called the Huskies has to be called the dogs

Just our luck, the week the Huskies break into the top 25 they come up on our schedule!
But they must have been tired after playing two games on the road in Arizona, because the Lucky Charms took it to them and played them hard.

The Charmers started fast and started early. Jax and Shane carried the load early and played together ala John Stockton and Carl Malone. Both combined for many points. Jordon the Juggernaught Juggler was dashing with his strong quick dribble and leaping ability sometimes being faster than any human could go and still control the ball. Alexie contined to get his quick shot off and Marcus held down the boards for the second game in a row.

In the second quarter Jax broke out and started to stretch the defense opening up paths for Devon and a shorter haired, but just as tenacious, Theo. Both big men Nick and Colby stood tall inside to give the Lucky Charms extra shots and a presence on defense.

Big developments in this game were Jax beginning to discover his true shot range and the development of Nick as a ball handler. Several times Nick took a defensive board to go coast to coast for a lay-in, scattering helpless defenders across the court.
